Artlist AI is a strong pick for video editors and small teams who want many leading AI models, voice, music and stock assets under one clear commercial license. Skip it if you mainly need lots of long, high-resolution AI video on a tight budget, because premium models drain credits quickly.

Pricing Free trial; AI Starter $11.99/mo annual ($19.99 monthly); AI Core $23.99/mo annual ($39.99 monthly); AI Creator $41.67/mo annual ($69.99 monthly); AI Pro $59.99/mo annual ($99.99 monthly); Max from $39.99/mo annual; Custom Business

Visit Artlist AI

Artlist AI is the generative side of Artlist, the stock music and footage service many YouTubers already pay for. One subscription now gets you AI image, video, music and voice generation from 100+ models, including Veo, Kling, Seedance, Nano Banana and ElevenLabs, all under one commercial license. Honestly, I think it's a handy one-stop shop. The catch is credits, which burn much faster on premium video models than the pricing page's headline numbers suggest.

A quick note: nobody on our team ran a hands-on test for this review, so I won't pretend I sat there timing renders (that would be dishonest). Instead, we reviewed Artlist AI as it stands at the start of November 2026 using Artlist's own pricing, license and help pages, published independent reviews and around 30 recent user reviews. Where someone else did the testing, I'll name them.

If you'd rather watch the platform than read about it, Artlist's own walkthrough shows how the AI toolkit is laid out.

Video: How to use the Artlist AI Toolkit by Artlist (YouTube)

Artlist AI in brief

Artlist started as a royalty-free music library for video creators, then added sound effects, stock footage, templates and plugins. Artlist AI is the newer layer on top. In Artlist's words, it's "an all-in-one creative tool featuring AI music generation, text-to-speech voiceovers, AI video and image generators, AI avatars, lip sync, and AI dubbing".

The key point: Artlist mostly doesn't build its own video models. It's an aggregator, and that probably explains both its appeal and its limits. You pick a model (Kling, Veo, Seedance, Hailuo, Wan, Grok Imagine and plenty more, according to its credit table), write a prompt, and pay in Artlist credits. Capterra's listing describes access to "100+ leading AI models" plus Artlist Studio and "70+ specialized AI apps". Picture a model buffet attached to a stock library you may already use. That's the pitch, and it seems a fair one.

If you searched for "artist ai", you probably meant this. Artlist (with an L) is the company; it isn't connected to the various apps called Artist AI.

Key features

AI video generator

This is the headline act. The video generator page covers text-to-video, image-to-video, video-to-video and audio-to-video, with "auto-prompting" to help you shape shots. The appeal is simple: you can try the same idea on Kling 4.0, Veo 3.1 and Seedance 2.0 without juggling three subscriptions. A user on Trustpilot put it nicely, saying it has "all the major AI models in one place, so I can quickly test and compare different models without switching between platforms".

The flip side: you're using those models through Artlist's interface, not the originals. One reviewer who landed on Artlist from a Kling search ad called it "a watered-down, stripped-back integration" with fewer options. If you need every advanced Kling setting, our guide to using Kling AI directly is worth a read first.

AI image generator

The image tool lists dozens of models, from cheap fast ones like Z-image Turbo (10 credits per 1K image) to Nano Banana Pro 4K (280 credits) and GPT Image 2.5 Max (460 credits), per Artlist's credit guide. There's also an image editor, 3D model creation and 70+ presets on paid plans, according to the pricing page. Artlist's support team points users wanting precise edits toward edit-focused models such as GPT Image 2 and FLUX 2 Pro Edit, as it explained in a reply on Trustpilot. That suggests picking the wrong model may turn a small change into a whole new image.

AI voiceover, music, avatars and dubbing

The AI hub lists text-to-speech, speech-to-speech and voice cloning "in every major language", an AI music generator (Google's Lyria appears among the pricing-page models), talking avatars, lip sync and AI dubbing. The credit table shows the outside engines behind some of these, including HeyGen Avatar 4, OmniHuman, Sync Lipsync and ElevenLabs Dubbing. If voice is your main need, our guide to adding AI voice to a video walks through the workflow in general terms.

Artlist Studio, Characters and Style Kit

Artlist Studio is pitched as a full AI production space where you cast characters, build locations, frame scenes and direct shots, per the Max plan help article. The same page describes Character Creation, which saves a person's likeness and lets you tag it in prompts for consistency. For brands, Artlist says its Style Kit stores reference images, colour palettes and written guidelines, as it explained in a Trustpilot reply. Just remember that using a real person's likeness or voice needs their consent; Artlist's acceptable use policy forbids using likenesses or voices without the required permissions.

The stock catalog still matters

This is Artlist's real edge over pure AI platforms. On a Max plan you also get royalty-free music and SFX, stems, footage up to 8K in ProRes or DNxHR, templates, LUTs and a Premiere Pro extension, according to the Max plan help page. If you edit real footage and want AI as a side dish, I'd say that bundle is hard to match.

Artlist AI pricing and plans

Artlist sells AI plans, stock plans and Max bundles that combine both. Here are the AI plans as shown on the official pricing page (checked 1 November 2026, US dollars, excluding VAT):

The Max starting price comes from UC Strategies' review, which lists Artlist Max "From $39.99/mo"; Artlist's own help page confirms Max comes with 7,500 to 120,000 credits and a Pro license. Heads up: the plans seem to appear as slightly different cards on different visits (one version showed AI Creator, another AI Pro), so check the plan names at checkout.

The free plan

Not much, honestly, and that's fine as long as you know it. On the pricing FAQ you can "generate free voiceovers, images, a video, and music" as a sample. The good news, per the refund policy page, is that the free trial "has no time limit" and stays free unless you subscribe. Several Trustpilot reviewers were surprised to hit a subscribe wall quickly, so treat it as a taster.

The credit maths nobody puts on the box

This is where I'd slow down. Looking at the plans, AI Starter covers "up to 103 AI videos" and "up to 1,650 AI images". Those numbers assume the cheapest models, which probably isn't what you'll use. Video is charged per second, and the credit guide shows the range is huge:

  • Kling 4.0 at 1080p: 275 credits per second, so a 10-second clip costs about 2,750 credits. That's roughly six clips on AI Starter.
  • Seedance 2.0 at 1080p: 600 credits per second, so two 10-second clips would use 12,000 of AI Starter's 16,500 monthly credits.
  • Veo 3.1 Lite at 720p: 63 credits per second, which is how you get closer to the headline video count.
  • Images: 1,650 images only works at 10 credits each (Z-image Turbo 1K). At Nano Banana Pro 4K's 280 credits, it's about 58.

Two more rules matter. Credits don't roll over month to month, and one-off top-ups are generally only available on 80,000-credit plans and above, expiring after 30 days. The "Unlimited" mode on higher plans helps, but Artlist says it applies only to supported models and is subject to "reasonable use limitations", with monthly fast-generation caps and daily usage thresholds, per the Max help article.

Refunds

Artlist's refund policy allows refunds within 14 days only if no assets have been "downloaded, generated, or used". In practice, one test generation can end your refund chance, so use the free trial before you pay.

Licensing and your outputs

This is the part Artlist does well, I think. Going by its license explainer, AI-generated content you create "is fully yours", and you can use it commercially "even after your subscription expires", as long as you follow the license terms and avoid forbidden uses. The AI hub adds that your work is not used for training and that Artlist doesn't claim ownership of your outputs.

Two details are easy to miss:

  • AI outputs and stock assets follow different rules. Stock music and footage are covered only in projects published while your plan is active. AI content made by Artlist and downloaded from its catalogs counts as a stock asset, not your output, per the same help article.
  • You can't use outputs to train other AI. The acceptable use policy (updated October 15, 2026) bans using outputs to train or benchmark AI systems and bans reselling account access or credits.

The Max plan's Pro license also stretches further for AI outputs, covering radio, apps, games, print and out-of-home ads "for AI-generated outputs only", per the Max help article. Stock assets have tighter limits, which the full license page spells out.

Performance and independent testing

Since we didn't test it ourselves, here's what others found. UC Strategies gave Artlist 4.5 out of 5 overall but noted that Nano Banana results "sometimes struggle with hyper-specific details", that AI voiceovers "lack that final 5% of emotional nuance", and that some generations "still show minor distortions that require extra cleanup". Its verdict on production readiness: fine "for storyboards and social clips", less so for high-end work. It also flagged the strict no-rollover credit policy as a pain point.

Users are blunter. One Trustpilot reviewer bought AI Core to try it and said they managed "2 15 second videos with Kling 4.0" before running out of credits. Another wrote that with 16,500 points "I hardly make one" video. Artlist's reply admitted the video count depends heavily on model and resolution and said it would pass on feedback about how estimates are shown. On image quality, a couple of reviewers complained about prompt adherence, while others praised consistent results and the Premiere plugin.

There's also a wider mood among long-time stock customers. Several reviewers on Trustpilot said the push into AI has made the music catalog harder to find. If you only want music, that's worth knowing.

Who it's for

  • Video editors already on Artlist: adding AI credits through Max keeps stock, voice and B-roll generation under one license and one bill.
  • Creators who want to compare models: trying the same prompt across Kling, Veo and Seedance in one place is the main reason to choose Artlist over a single-model app.
  • Small agencies: the clear commercial terms and team workspaces on higher tiers suit client work.

Who should skip it? Anyone who mainly wants long, high-resolution AI video on a small budget. At 16,500 credits a month, premium models run out fast. If that's you, start with our step-by-step guide to making AI videos and the best AI video generators roundup to compare costs.

Artlist AI alternatives worth considering

  • Higgsfield AI: another multi-model video platform built around cinematic presets. Choose it if you want video-first tools without a stock library. See our Higgsfield AI review.
  • Kling AI direct: choose the original if you only need Kling and want every control. Our Kling AI guide covers it.
  • HeyGen: choose it if talking avatars and translation are the main job rather than cinematic B-roll. Read our HeyGen review.

Verdict

For the right person, I'd say yes. Artlist AI's real strengths are breadth and licensing: dozens of leading models, voice and music, a big stock catalog on Max, and terms that let you keep commercial rights to your outputs even after you cancel. That's a tidy package for editors and small teams, though I wouldn't buy it for AI video alone.

But the credit system needs respect. Headline counts assume the cheapest models, credits vanish at month end, and refunds disappear after a single generation. Use the free trial, work out the per-second cost of the model you actually want, and start on monthly billing before committing to a year.

Our rating: 3.5 out of 5.

FAQ

Is Artlist AI free?

Partly. Artlist offers a free trial with no time limit that lets you generate a few voiceovers, images, a video and some music as a sample. Real use needs a paid plan: AI Starter starts at $11.99 a month billed annually or $19.99 billed monthly, per the official pricing page, checked 1 November 2026.

Can I use Artlist AI content commercially?

Yes. Artlist says AI content you generate is yours and can be used commercially, including after your subscription ends, as long as you follow its license and acceptable use policy. Content created by Artlist and downloaded from its catalogs is treated as a stock asset with different rules.

Do Artlist AI credits roll over?

No. Going by Artlist's help centre, AI credits don't roll over and reset at the start of each monthly cycle. One-off top-ups are generally only available on plans with 80,000 credits or more, and those top-up credits expire 30 days after purchase.

How many videos can I make with Artlist AI?

It depends on the model. Video is charged per second: Kling 4.0 at 1080p costs 275 credits a second, Seedance 2.0 at 1080p costs 600 and Veo 3.1 Lite at 720p costs 63. On the 16,500-credit plan, that ranges from two 10-second Seedance clips to about 30 eight-second Veo 3.1 Lite clips.

Does Artlist use my prompts to train AI?

Artlist says no. On its AI page, your prompts, uploads and outputs aren't used for training and are stored in encrypted environments. In return, its acceptable use policy bars you from using Artlist outputs to train or benchmark other AI systems.

Can I get a refund from Artlist?

Only within 14 days of payment and only if you haven't downloaded, generated or used any assets, according to Artlist's refund policy. Even one test generation can make you ineligible, so try the free trial first. You can cancel renewal anytime to stop future charges.
