Higgsfield AI Review: Is It Worth It in 2026?
Higgsfield AI puts Kling, Veo, Seedance and its own Cinema Studio behind one login. It is powerful, but the free plan is thin and credits go fast.
Our verdict on Higgsfield AI
Higgsfield AI is one of the most complete places to make AI video, with a strong model lineup and genuinely useful film-style controls. It suits creators and marketers who produce video every week and will watch the credit meter; casual users and anyone who needs predictable costs should skip it.
Pricing Free (no credits); Starter $15/mo; Plus $49/mo ($39 annual); Ultra $129/mo ($99 annual); Team $69/seat/mo; Scale $169/seat/mo; Enterprise custom
Visit Higgsfield AIIn August 2026, a 110-minute feature film called The Cully Hill Boys premiered in New York. It was made in four weeks, on a budget of about $2 million, roughly half of which went on AI computing, according to 36Kr. The studio behind it was not a studio at all. It was Higgsfield AI, a three-year-old software company that wanted to show brands what its tools could do.
So is Higgsfield AI worth paying for? Our short answer: yes, if you make a lot of short-form video and want many of the best video and image models behind one login, and only if you are careful with credits. Higgsfield AI is a browser-based creation platform that bundles its own tools with third-party models such as Kling, Veo and Seedance. It has no meaningful free tier, its pricing is confusing, and its billing practices have drawn sustained criticism. We rate it 3.5 out of 5.
We reviewed Higgsfield as it stands in late October 2026, drawing on the official help center, independent hands-on tests, funding coverage and 64 recent user reviews. Nobody at The AI Future has run our own tests on it for this review, so where we describe results, we say whose they are.
What is Higgsfield AI?
Higgsfield AI is a San Francisco company founded in 2023 by Alex Mashrabov and Erzat Dulat, according to Wikipedia. Mashrabov previously led generative AI at Snap, which bought his earlier startup, AI Factory. The company launched its browser product for end-to-end video creation in March 2025.
The plain-English definition is this: Higgsfield is less a single AI video generator than a shop window for many of them. You pick a model, or a guided workflow, and spend credits to generate images and clips. Higgsfield's own comparison page describes it as a suite of 35+ models and tools, including Seedance 2.5, Kling 3.0, WAN 3.0, Veo 3.1 and Sora 2 for video, plus image models such as Nano Banana, Flux 2, GPT Image 2 and Ideogram 4.5. Think of it as a food court rather than a restaurant: the value is in the choice and the shared tray, not one kitchen.
It has grown very quickly. In August 2026 Higgsfield raised a $400 million Series B led by DST Global at a $5.4 billion valuation, up from $1.3 billion in January, and said it had more than 30 million users and about $700 million in annualized revenue, as reported by Pulse 2.0. VKTR notes that enterprise customers now make up most of its sales and that the company has not disclosed its margins. The company also claims that 390 Fortune 500 companies use it, a figure FeedBagel points out has not been independently audited.
Key features
One generator, many models
The core of Higgsfield is a single generate screen where you switch between models. That matters more than it sounds. Each model has its own strengths: in a three-prompt test published on 2 October, SaaS CRM Review found Veo 3.1 Fast tracked a running dog most closely, Seedance 2.0 handled a product shot with legible watch numerals, and Kling 3.0 was the cheapest but slowed the dog to a walk. Being able to try all three without three subscriptions is the main reason people pay.
Cinema Studio 4.0
Cinema Studio is Higgsfield's film-style workspace. Version 4, live since mid-August, added 30+ camera movement presets, a two-source lighting console, 50+ colour grading palettes, an "Acting Console" with six emotions at three intensities, and Video Extend for lengthening clips, according to AlphaSignal. Higgsfield says Cinema Studio clips can run up to 30 seconds with up to 50 references. It is also the most expensive part of the platform: the same page cites 70 credits for a 10-second 720p clip with audio.
Soul ID and consistent characters
Soul ID trains a reusable character from reference photos, so the same face can appear across many shots. This is one of the hardest problems in AI video. It is also where results depend most on what you feed it: SaaS CRM Review trained a character on a single low-quality photo (the upload page recommends 20 or more) and got no identity matches in five tries. That says more about the input than the tool, but it is a useful warning.
Supercomputer, the agent
Supercomputer is Higgsfield's agent. According to the help center, you describe a task in plain language, it plans the steps, routes each one to a suitable model, and returns results in one chat. It can connect to Slack, TikTok, Gmail, Google Drive and Notion, and includes a "Faceless" channel that makes YouTube videos up to 15 minutes long. Each step costs credits, so a single task can cost far more than one generation. Usage of Higgsfield's agentic products grew 42-fold in the three months after the May rollout, according to Pulse 2.0.
Marketing, ads and lip sync
For marketers, Marketing Studio builds campaign assets from a product URL or photos using 1,500+ templates, Ads Studio produces image ads, and Lipsync Studio offers eight models for talking videos, per Higgsfield. Most of Higgsfield's early users were social media marketers, according to Wikipedia's summary of Reuters reporting, and these tools show it.
Longer videos with OpenAI models
In an OpenAI case study dated 13 October 2026, Higgsfield says agents built on GPT-6 Astra have pushed its longest videos from about one minute to more than 10 minutes, with help keeping characters consistent. Voice-to-film creation with GPT-Live-1 is described as planned, not launched.
Higgsfield AI pricing and plans
Higgsfield AI pricing is the hardest part of this review to pin down. Prices were checked in October 2026 against independent sources, and they do not always agree. SaaS CRM Review noticed that two logged-out sessions on the same day showed different Starter and Plus offers, and a signed-in view showed another set. A Krea breakdown from September listed Starter at $19 and Plus at $59. The figures below are the ones SaaS CRM Review recorded on 2 October and that match Higgsfield's own comparison page of 11 October.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual (per month) | Credits per month | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 0 | Small set of models only, no free trial |
| Starter | $15 | $15 | 200 | Seedance 2.0 Fast and Mini only; 2 parallel videos |
| Plus | $49 | $39 | 1,000 | Full Seedance, Veo Fast; 6 parallel videos |
| Ultra | $129 | $99 | 3,000 | 8 parallel videos |
| Team | $69 per seat | $65 per seat | 1,000 per seat | Shared workspace, 2 to 9 members |
| Scale | $169 per seat | $150 per seat | 2,500 per seat | Spend controls, priority queue, basic SSO |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Rollover credits, dedicated capacity |
What does a credit buy? At the Ultra rate, SaaS CRM Review worked out about $0.43 for a five-second Kling 3.0 clip, $0.97 for Seedance 2.0 and $1.38 for an eight-second Veo 3.1 Fast clip. Higgsfield's own figure for a 10-second Cinema Studio clip with audio is about $3.43 at the Plus rate. Small settings matter too: Kling's resolution reset to 4K on reload in that test, tripling the cost of the next click.
Three other details from the official plans page are worth knowing before you subscribe. Credits on individual plans do not roll over. "Unlimited" access to selected models on Plus and Ultra is a separate time-limited purchase, not a permanent perk, and runs in a standard queue. Refunds are only available within seven days of the first purchase if no credits have been used, with a fee of up to 6%, and renewals are non-refundable.
Is Higgsfield AI free?
Not in any useful sense. The help center says you can generate without a paid plan, but only with a small set of models and no credits, and there is no free trial. SaaS CRM Review found no free plan card on the pricing page, and a new account opened with zero credits. If you want to try AI video at no cost, our guide to the best free AI tools is a better starting point.
Performance and independent testing
The most detailed recent test we found is from SaaS CRM Review, run on 1 and 2 October 2026 on a paid Ultra plan. Its main generator clips took about two to two and a half minutes each, Cinema Studio about five minutes, and Soul character training about 4.4 minutes. Five video jobs were accepted at once without a queue. Output was 720p MP4 with audio and no visible watermark.
Quality was strong but uneven. Seedance 2.0 scored highest overall, Veo 3.1 Fast had the best camera tracking, and Kling 3.0 struggled with brand text on a product shot. In Cinema Studio, a lighthouse prompt looked good frame by frame but cut between three shots in five seconds, and the lighthouse changed design between them. A harmless prompt about a fisherman mending a net was blocked as "protected content" after three minutes, though the credits were refunded. The reviewer was careful to call three prompts "a first read rather than a ranking," and we agree.
User reports echo the same pattern. On Trustpilot, recent reviewers praise realistic output and fast support, while others describe slow "unlimited" queues, including one who said unlimited images took five to ten minutes each, and wrongly triggered content filters (Trustpilot).
There is a wider context, too. In February, Forbes reported racist and antisemitic videos made on the platform alongside complaints about surprise charges and slow refunds, as summarised by Dealroom; Higgsfield said it was strengthening moderation and clarifying billing. A July piece from MindStudio, itself a competitor, collected further cancellation complaints. What we know is that these complaints are persistent across sources. What we cannot know from the outside is how common they are relative to 30 million users.
One more point worth separating out: SaaS CRM Review notes that Higgsfield's terms let it train on users' inputs and outputs, with only Enterprise agreements carving this out. For client work, that deserves a read of the terms before you upload anything.
Who it's for
Higgsfield makes the most sense for people who produce video every week: social media marketers, small agencies, ad teams and indie filmmakers who want to compare Kling, Veo and Seedance side by side and are willing to learn which model suits which shot. The Plus plan is the realistic entry point, since Starter locks out most of the premium models.
It makes less sense for casual users, students or anyone who only needs one model. If you already know you only use Veo or Kling, going direct is usually simpler. And if predictable billing matters to your business, the credit system and refund rules are a real cost, not a footnote.
Higgsfield AI alternatives
- Runway. The closest like-for-like rival, with its own editor and many of the same third-party models. Higgsfield's own comparison lists Runway plans from $15 a month, with more credits per dollar on paper, though credit costs are not directly comparable.
- Leonardo AI. A better fit if your work is mostly images with some video, and you want a gentler learning curve. See our Leonardo AI review.
- Going direct to one model. If one model covers your needs, its maker's own app avoids Higgsfield's layer of credits. SaaS CRM Review calls Higgsfield "a poor buy" for single-model users. Note that OpenAI shut the Sora app in April 2026, according to VKTR, so our older Sora review is now mostly of historical interest.
Verdict
Higgsfield AI has become one of the most complete places to make AI video, with a strong model lineup, genuinely useful film-style controls in Cinema Studio 4.0, and an agent that can chain whole productions together. For a working creator, the convenience of one bill and one interface is real.
But the trade-offs are hard to ignore. The free plan is close to nothing, prices shift between sessions, credits burn quickly on premium models, "unlimited" is narrower than it sounds, and billing complaints keep surfacing. Where do we land? Use it if you make video weekly, start on Plus with monthly billing, and watch the credit meter. Skip it if you are experimenting, on a tight budget, or need predictable costs.
FAQ
What is Higgsfield AI?
Higgsfield AI is a browser-based platform for creating AI video and images, founded in 2023 and based in San Francisco. It combines third-party models such as Kling, Veo and Seedance with its own tools, including Cinema Studio for film-style shots, Soul ID for consistent characters and Supercomputer, an agent that plans and runs multi-step productions.
Is Higgsfield AI free?
Not really. You can sign up and generate with a small set of models, but the free plan includes no credits and there is no free trial. Paid plans start at $15 a month for 200 credits, and most premium video models need the $49 Plus plan or higher, based on prices checked in October 2026.
Is Higgsfield AI the best?
It is one of the strongest all-in-one options if you want many top video models in one place and use them often. It is not the best choice for beginners, single-model users or anyone who wants simple, predictable pricing. Its output is only as good as the underlying model you pick, and costs rise quickly.
What is the Higgsfield AI video generation max duration limit?
It depends on the tool. In SaaS CRM Review's tests, standard model clips ran five to eight seconds, Cinema Studio clips can run up to 30 seconds, and Supercomputer's Faceless channel can produce YouTube videos up to 15 minutes. Higgsfield says agent workflows now reach more than 10 minutes.
