Beacons is one of the most complete creator platforms, with a free plan that includes a store, email and a live media kit. Use it if you sell digital products or pitch brands and will move to Creator Plus once sales pass about $333 a month; skip it if you only need a link list or want full domain ownership.

Pricing Free (9% sales fee); Creator $10/mo or $100/yr; Creator Plus $30/mo or $300/yr; Creator Max $90–100/mo or $1,000/yr

Visit Beacons AI

Beacons AI is a creator platform that puts a link-in-bio page, a digital product store, email marketing, a self-updating media kit and an AI assistant called Beam behind one link. The free plan is real and generous, but it takes a 9% cut of everything you sell, and paid plans run from $10 to about $100 a month. If you sell digital products and want one dashboard, I think it's a strong pick. If you only need a tidy list of links, it's more than you need.

Nobody at The AI Future ran a hands-on test of Beacons for this review. Instead, we worked from its pricing page and help center, published independent reviews, app-store data and user feedback, as of late October 2026. Where someone else did the testing, we say who.

Beacons AI in brief

If you searched "what is beacons ai" or "what is beacon ai", the answer is simple: Beacons is an all-in-one business platform for content creators, and the "AI" is part of both the domain name and the pitch. On its pricing page, Beacons describes itself as "a creator’s AI-powered business platform designed to help you build, grow, and monetize your creator business with the help of your AI teammate, Beam."

The product stacks three layers on one URL (beacons.ai/yourname):

  • The front end: a link-in-bio page and, if you want it, a full desktop website.
  • The money layer: a store for digital products, courses and memberships, an affiliate marketplace, and a media kit plus invoicing for brand deals.
  • The growth layer: email marketing, Instagram auto-DMs (Smart Reply), analytics and the Beam AI assistant sitting on top of all your data.

The company was started by cofounders who, according to its Beacons 2.0 announcement, met as PhD students at Stanford doing machine learning research. That post explains the logic: once a creator's links, sales, emails and social stats live in one system, AI can use that data to write in your voice and surface insights. That's the bet. Whether it pays off for you probably depends on how much you sell, as we'll see.

Beacons isn't the only place creators now meet generative AI. For the wider picture, our explainer on generative AI solutions covers what these tools can and can't do, and our guide to generative AI in ecommerce shows how the same ideas apply to online stores.

Key features

Beam, the AI teammate

Beam is a chat assistant that knows your Beacons data. The pricing page FAQ gives examples of questions you can ask it, such as "Why did my follower count increase more than usual last week?" and "Which one of my posts is driving the most engagement, and how can I replicate that?" Beam also walks you through setup when you sign up and can design your page from a text prompt.

AI credits and the meter

Beacons meters its AI tools in credits. The plan comparison lists what each action costs:

AI actionCredits per use
Text generation (bio, email, store copy)1
Chat exchange with Beam3
Image generation10
Trending content search15
AI link-in-bio designer20
AI email generation30

Paid plans get "more daily AI credits", according to the same page, but the public page we read didn't state the exact daily allowance per plan, so check it in your account before you rely on heavy AI use. The AI brand outreach email generator is listed as unlimited on every plan, and the help center says Creator Max includes "unlimited AI generations".

The per-action cost matters. One AI email (30 credits) costs the same as ten Beam chats or thirty short text generations.

If you plan to draft a weekly newsletter with AI and redesign your page now and then, the email generator and page designer will likely eat most of your allowance, not the cheap text tools. That's a lot of credits for one email, and I'd keep an eye on it.

Link in bio and website builder

Every plan includes unlimited links, unlimited customization and sub-pages, per the pricing page. You can also build a desktop and mobile responsive website from templates. In the week of 26 October 2026, PricingSaaS recorded Beacons raising website limits to 5 on Creator, 10 on Creator Plus and 15 on Creator Max. Removing Beacons branding requires Creator Plus or higher, according to the help center.

Store and digital products

The store sells digital downloads, courses, memberships and bookings, with payouts to Stripe or PayPal.

Higher tiers add buy now pay later (Klarna or Affirm), order bumps, discount codes, multi-currency checkout and a one-click product importer, per the plan comparison. A "Social Asset Generator" turns listings into ready-to-share marketing images.

Media kit and brand deals

Reviewers praise this feature most, and I can see why. The media kit pulls your follower and engagement numbers from linked social accounts and updates them automatically, as the Beacons product FAQ explains. You also get rate cards, invoices, a pricing calculator for brand deals, media kit analytics and email gating. In its review, RoboRhythms called the AI media kit the "strongest feature in the suite".

Email marketing and Smart Reply

Email collection, an audience manager with unlimited contacts, automations and an email builder are built in. Sends are capped at 50 a month on Free and 500 on Creator, with unlimited sends from Creator Plus, according to the help center. Smart Reply sends automated Instagram DMs triggered by keywords on Reels, posts and Stories; on Free and Creator these carry Beacons branding.

Pricing and plans

Beacons has four plans. Prices below come from the official Beacons pricing help article and pricing page, checked October 2026, cross-checked against PricingSaaS.

PlanMonthlyAnnualSeller feeEmail sendsKey extras
Free$0$09%50/monthUnlimited links, media kit, store, 5 link-in-bio pages
Creator$10$100 ($8.33/mo)9%500/monthCustom domain free for year one, email automations, AI brand outreach
Creator Plus$30$300 ($25/mo)0%UnlimitedBuy now pay later, memberships, courses, order bumps, branding removal
Creator Max$90–100$1,0000%UnlimitedGoogle Workspace, NFC card, white-glove support

One caveat on Creator Max. Beacons' help center lists it at $100 a month, while PricingSaaS recorded $90 on the live pricing page, and independent reviews such as Built by Foundry also quote $90. The annual price rose from $900 to $1,000 in late October 2026, per PricingSaaS. Check the price shown at checkout.

The free plan

The free plan is more than a trial. You get unlimited links, full page customization, a media kit, a working store, email collection, 50 email sends a month and some AI credits. The costs sit elsewhere:

  • A 9% Beacons fee on product and affiliate sales, on top of Stripe or PayPal processing. HowSociable puts processing at about 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction.
  • Beacons branding stays on your page and product pages.
  • Support is slowest: the pricing page promises a response in under 48 hours on Free, versus under 6 hours on Creator Max.

Worked example: leaving the free plan

The fee decides your real cost. Say you sell a $25 template 20 times a month, which is $500 in sales.

  • Free: 9% of $500 is $45 a month to Beacons.
  • Creator ($10): still 9%, so $45 plus $10 is $55. Worse, if selling is your goal.
  • Creator Plus ($30): 0% fee, so $30 flat. You keep $15 more than on Free.

The break-even is $30 divided by 0.09, about $333 in monthly sales. Built by Foundry reached the same figure and adds that on annual billing ($25 a month) it drops to about $278. Below that line, stay on Free. Above it, Creator Plus pays for itself.

Honestly, the middle Creator plan looks like the odd one out to me. It only makes sense if you want a custom domain or more email sends and aren't selling much.

Performance and independent testing

We didn't test Beacons ourselves, so this section leans on others who did, plus app-store data.

Independent reviews are positive on features. Built by Foundry rates Beacons 4 out of 5, calling it "a strong creator business toolkit" while warning that the 9% seller fee "becomes expensive fast". HowSociable gives it 8/10 as "a genuinely all-in-one creator platform", held back by the fee, billing and support complaints, and a domain model that registers custom domains to Beacons rather than to you.

The AI tools are useful but uneven. RoboRhythms says it tested the free plan and Creator Plus. It reports that the bio generator produced decent first drafts in 4 to 6 seconds but needed a 10–15% manual rewrite, and that the caption and email assistants need several samples of your past content before they match your voice. It describes the brand outreach generator's output as "starting point" quality, not "send as is" quality. Note that RoboRhythms' plan names and Creator Max price differ from Beacons' own pages, so treat its pricing table with care.

The mobile app is the weak spot. The Android app has a 3.2 rating from about 1,600 ratings and 500K+ downloads on Google Play, and the iPhone app also averages 3.2 on the App Store. Reading the recent Google Play reviews, the most common complaint between August and October 2026 was a blank or black screen after signing in with Google. One reviewer wrote on 7 October that after an update the layout "has been compressed" and "things have just not worked how they used to." The web version doesn't seem to share this problem, but if you plan to run your business from your phone, it matters.

The limits

  • Fees at scale: on Free or Creator, every $1,000 of sales costs you $90 in Beacons fees before processing.
  • Domain ownership: HowSociable reports that domains bought through Beacons are registered to Beacons, with a transfer-out fee reported around $70. Buy your domain from a registrar you control if that matters.
  • Billing and support: HowSociable cites Trustpilot complaints about unexpected charges, refunds and slow, templated support replies.
  • Payment coverage: payouts go through Stripe or PayPal. Several Google Play reviewers in countries where neither is available said they couldn't withdraw money.
  • Depth: HowSociable notes the email tool lacks advanced segmentation and behavior-based automations like cart abandonment.

Beacons AI alternatives worth considering

  • Linktree: choose it if you want the simplest, best-known link page. PricingSaaS lists paid plans from $7 a month billed annually. HowSociable notes Linktree's free-plan commerce fee (about 12%) is higher than Beacons' 9%.
  • Stan Store: choose it if you sell a lot of digital products and prefer a flat fee. HowSociable lists it from $29 a month, with a trial instead of a free plan and 0% commission.
  • Durable: choose it if you want an AI-built website for a small business rather than a creator storefront. See our Durable AI website builder review.

Verdict

Beacons AI earns 3.5 out of 5 from us.

Few link-in-bio rivals pack as much into a free plan: a store, email, a live media kit and AI tools that independent reviewers call practical rather than gimmicky. The deductions are for the 9% fee on lower tiers, an unreliable mobile app, and a record of billing and support complaints.

I'd use it if you sell digital products or pitch brands and want one dashboard, and I'd do the break-even math the day your sales pass a few hundred dollars a month. Skip it if you only need a link list, if owning your domain and data outright matters to you, or if you mainly work from an Android phone and can't tolerate app glitches.

It has a free plan with a 9% sales fee, and paid plans start at $10 a month.

Is Beacons AI free?

Yes. The free plan includes unlimited links, a media kit, a store, 50 email sends a month and some AI credits.

Is Beacons better than Linktree?

It depends on whether you sell. Beacons has stronger built-in commerce, email, media kit and AI tools, and a lower free-plan sales fee. Linktree is simpler and better known. If you just need a clean list of links, Linktree is easier; if you sell digital products, Beacons does more.

Is Beacons safe and legitimate?

Yes, Beacons is an established, venture-backed company based in San Francisco, and its apps are listed by Beacons AI, Inc. on the App Store and Google Play. Some users do report billing disputes and slow support, so read the plan terms, buy your domain separately and keep receipts.

What users are saying

We read 49 Google Play reviews posted between May and October 2026, plus the Trustpilot excerpts quoted by HowSociable. Positive reviewers like the free plan and having a store, email and landing page in one place; most negative reviews describe the Android app showing a blank screen after Google sign-in. Reddit and Trustpilot were not readable for us, so this sample is app-heavy and skews negative about the app rather than the web platform.
