Remaker AI review 2026: free face swap, pricing and the payment catch
Remaker AI offers a free photo face swap and one-time credit packs. Independent tests rate it fast and easy, but crypto-only checkout and outages are red flags.

Our verdict on Remaker AI
Remaker AI is a fast, easy option for free, consensual photo face swaps of your own pictures. Casual users can try the free tool; anyone planning to pay or needing reliable service, card payments and support should choose an alternative.
Pricing Free photo face swap; one-time credit packs from $5.99 (200 credits) to $299 (20,000 credits), no subscription
Visit Remaker AIRemaker AI is a browser-based toolkit best known for free photo face swaps, sold through one-time credit packs rather than a subscription. As of late October 2026, its single-photo face swap is still advertised as free with no signup and no watermark, while video swaps and most other tools need paid credits. The catch isn't the AI. It's the checkout: buyers report that payment now runs only through crypto and Telegram, and published refund terms conflict. Honestly, that would put me off paying, whatever the swaps look like.
This review is based on Remaker's own pages, published hands-on tests by other outlets and user reviews, checked in late October 2026. Nobody at The AI Future ran tests on the tool for this piece, and where another site did the testing, it's named.
Our take: Remaker AI is a quick, easy option for a consensual photo swap, such as fixing a closed-eye group shot of your own family. I think it's hard to recommend paying for, given the payment setup and reliability complaints.
About Remaker AI
Remaker AI is a web app that bundles face swapping with image generation, upscaling, background removal, headshots and video tools. Searches for "remarker ai" or "remake ai" probably mean this service at remaker.ai.
The homepage now leads with an image-to-video generator, not face swap. The shift shows how far the product has grown: Plisio counts about fifteen tools in the dashboard, from a tattoo generator to a talking-photo animator.
Plisio names the operator as ZINGDECK INTL PTE. LTD., a Singapore company registered in 2019. Remaker's Trustpilot profile lists Anguilla as its contact location, and the company hasn't claimed that profile.
The app situation's confusing. Magic Hour and UniFab both report that Remaker says it has no official mobile app and warns about lookalike listings. Plisio, by contrast, describes an iOS app published by ZINGDECK INTL. I'd stick to the website, which works in mobile browsers, as Remaker's own face swap FAQ points out.
Key features
Photo face swap
The free photo tool takes two uploads: an "original image" that keeps the scene, and a "target face" that supplies the new face. Remaker's face swap page calls it "Free online face changer" with "No sign up, no watermark." Magic Hour reports the picker accepts JPEG, PNG, WEBP and BMP files, checked 10 October 2026.
Remaker pitches uses such as fixing group photos where someone blinked, swapping into paintings and making memes. The legitimate cases share one thing. You own the photo, or everyone in it agrees.
Multiple-face and batch swaps
A separate multiple-face mode maps different replacement faces to different people in one group photo. A batch mode applies one face across many photos. Magic Hour reports the batch interface lists up to 50 original images per session.
Video and GIF face swap
Video swaps are paid. The tool accepts clips up to 30 minutes and 500 MB, say UniFab and Magic Hour. Magic Hour reports a displayed rate of one credit per second for single-face video and two credits per second for multi-face video.
Image and video generation
The wider toolkit includes a text-to-image art generator, a prompt-based photo editor, an upscaler and a background remover. Video tools cover image-to-video, text-to-video and adding sound. The image-to-video page offers clips from 5 to 30 seconds at up to 1080p, and says "NSFW content is not allowed in prompt."
API
Remaker publishes API documentation for photo, multi-face and video swaps. Magic Hour reports the photo API allows 20 task submissions per minute for regular users and deletes generated images after 24 hours.
Remaker AI pricing and the free plan
Remaker's pricing page didn't load as a readable page for this review. The figures below come from Magic Hour's guide, which says it checked the live page on 21 October 2026. Magic Hour sells a competing face swap tool, so its framing probably leans its own way.
| Credit pack (one-time) | Price | Approx. cost per credit |
|---|---|---|
| Free photo face swap | $0 | No signup, no watermark (advertised) |
| 200 credits | $5.99 | 3.0 cents |
| 530 credits | $9.99 | 1.9 cents |
| 1,100 credits | $19.99 | 1.8 cents |
| 3,000 credits | $49.99 | 1.7 cents |
| 20,000 credits | $299 | 1.5 cents |
Prices checked October 2026. Purchased credits don't expire, the same guide says. At one credit per second, a 30-second single-face video attempt costs 30 credits, or about $0.90 from the smallest pack.
The free plan in practice
The "remaker ai face swap free" offer covers single-photo swaps. SoftwareTestingHelp notes that free users can't run video swaps or most other features, and that upscaling a result costs credits. Some users say the free allowance has shrunk. One Trustpilot reviewer wrote in January 2026 that the site "has no more free options" after a redesign. Another, in Germany, said a signup grant of 30 free credits went mostly on failed attempts.
Payment and refunds
This is the biggest red flag, and I wouldn't ignore it. Magic Hour reports that the pricing screen offers "Card via Telegram" and crypto, and that its FAQ treats direct card payments as unsupported. Several Trustpilot reviews from March and April 2026 say the same. One reviewer wrote that "Payment is now only possible via crypto and Telegram, which gives a very unprofessional impression."
Refund rules also conflict. Remaker's terms describe a conditional first-purchase refund, but the pricing FAQ tells buyers crypto and Telegram Stars payments are non-refundable, as Magic Hour found. If you do pay, start with the smallest pack.
Performance and independent testing
The most detailed published test comes from SoftwareTestingHelp. The site says it ran 35 high-resolution images and five MP4 clips through eight scenarios, with face angles up to 75 degrees and two to six people per group shot.
Its scores were strongest for ease of use (9/10) and multi-face performance (8.5/10). Realism, which seems the weak spot for photos, scored 7.5/10, with "minor artificial skin-smoothing effects." Video scored lowest at 6.5/10, with "edge jitter on fast head turns." It measured photo swaps at 3 to 5 seconds and said video queues slow at peak times.
The conclusion was mixed. Results looked realistic for clear, front-facing photos, but quality dropped with steep angles, unusual lighting or low resolution. No live-chat support got a mention too. Fair enough.
Techraisal gave Remaker 3.5 out of 5 in December 2025, scoring reliability 2.2 and support 2.0. It described a split: G2 reviewers praised speed and upscaling, while Trustpilot reviewers reported outages and failed generations.
The outage reports are specific. One Trustpilot reviewer said the site went down on 4 December 2025 while they still held credit. A French reviewer wrote in August 2026 that the tool ignored prompts and used credits anyway.
Ratings around the web
Remaker scores 2.2 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 13 reviews, with 77% one-star, checked October 2026. Trustpilot notes the company has not invited reviews, so the sample may not be representative. Techjockey shows an overall score of 4.2 out of 5, though most quoted reviews there date from July 2024. Techraisal reported a 5 out of 5 G2 average from 17 reviews in December 2025. G2 blocked access during research for this review, so that figure couldn't be rechecked.
Privacy, consent and the law
On Remaker's face swap FAQ, uploaded and generated images "will be deleted within 48 hours." That's a vendor claim, not an audited one. Oddly, the same FAQ refers to the service as "FaceVary" in several answers.
The FAQ's legal answer looks out of date too. It says there are generally "no direct laws per se that specifically address face swap or deepfake technology." In the United States, the TAKE IT DOWN Act now targets nonconsensual intimate imagery, including AI-generated deepfakes. Covered platforms had to have 48-hour takedown processes in place by 19 May 2026, with the FTC enforcing, according to law firm Wiley.
The rule for users is simple: only swap faces you have permission to use. That means your own, your family's with their agreement, or licensed material. Making intimate or deceptive images of a real person without consent is harmful, and it's likely illegal in many places. Some of Remaker's sample prompts, such as making two people in a photo kiss, show how easily a tool like this can be misused on other people's pictures. If you're unsure whether an image you've seen was altered, see our guide on how to tell if a photo is AI generated.
Best suited to
- Casual users who want one quick, free photo swap of their own pictures, such as a group-photo fix or a self-portrait in a painting.
- Social media creators making memes with their own face, who can live with occasional failed generations.
- Not for professionals who need dependable uptime, invoices, card payments or responsive support.

Verdict
Remaker AI does the basic job well. Independent testing rates its photo swaps as fast and realistic on clear, front-facing images, and the free photo tool needs no account.
Paying is the problem. Crypto and Telegram checkout, conflicting refund terms, an unclaimed Trustpilot profile and reports of outages add up to real risk, and I don't think the credit packs are worth it. Our take: use the free photo swap for consensual, personal edits, and look elsewhere before you spend money.
FAQ
Is Remaker AI free?
Partly. The single-photo face swap is advertised as free with no signup and no watermark. Video swaps, upscaling and most other tools need credits, with packs starting at $5.99 for 200 credits as of October 2026.
Is "remarker ai" the same as Remaker AI?
Yes. "Remarker ai" and "remake ai" are common misspellings of Remaker AI at remaker.ai. Watch out for similarly named apps in app stores, which may not belong to the same company.
Is Remaker AI safe to use?
Remaker says uploaded images are deleted within 48 hours, but no independent audit confirms it. I wouldn't upload sensitive photos. Payments run through crypto or Telegram, which offer weaker buyer protection than a card.
Does Remaker AI have a mobile app?
Reports conflict. Several guides say Remaker states it has no official app, while Plisio describes an iOS app from the same operator. The website works in mobile browsers, which avoids lookalike apps.
Is face swapping legal?
Swapping your own face, or someone's with their clear consent, is generally fine for personal use. Creating intimate or deceptive images of real people without consent is harmful and illegal in many places, including under the US TAKE IT DOWN Act's rules on nonconsensual intimate deepfakes.
How many credits does a video face swap use?
Magic Hour reports a displayed rate of one credit per second for a single-face video and two per second for multiple faces. A 30-second clip would use 30 or 60 credits.
