Kits AI review 2026: voice cloning, pricing and what users really think
Kits AI offers licensed AI voices, cloning and stem tools for musicians, but its free plan has no downloads and billing complaints dominate user reviews.

Our verdict on Kits AI
Kits AI is a useful vocal toolkit for producers making demos, harmonies and stems, built on licensed voices. Try the free plan before paying, and skip it if you need polished final vocals or don't want to watch a subscription closely.
Pricing Free (15 conversion minutes, no downloads); Starter $10/mo; Producer $30/mo; Professional $60/mo
Visit Kits AIShort version: Kits AI is a browser-based set of AI vocal tools for musicians. It does voice cloning, voice conversion, vocal removal, AI mastering and AI instruments, and there's a free plan. The tools are aimed at real producers, and the voice library is licensed from the artists. But the free plan won't let you download anything, and Trustpilot reviews are full of billing complaints. So yes, try it, but read the subscription terms first.
I'll be straight with you about how this review was made. Nobody at The AI Future ran Kits through a hands-on test, so you won't find invented timings or screenshots here. We reviewed Kits AI as it stands in late October 2026, using the official pricing and help pages, independent write-ups, two YouTube reviews and about 40 user reviews on Trustpilot. When someone else did the hands-on testing, I'll name them.

What is Kits AI?
Kits AI is a web platform (it also has a desktop app) from Arpeggi Labs Inc., the company named in the site footer. The homepage pitches it as "studio-quality AI audio tools" that let you "Create custom voices, sing in any style, play any instrument, isolate vocals." The pricing page says Kits serves "5,000,000+ creators."
Here's how it works. You record or upload a vocal, choose a voice, and Kits re-sings your melody in that voice's tone while keeping your phrasing. That's voice-to-voice conversion, which is different from a text-to-song generator like Suno. You bring the performance and Kits changes the voice. If you want the background on how these systems differ, see our explainer on how AI music works.
Ethics is the other big selling point. Kits says every voice in its artist library is "ethically licensed and securely sourced by Kits via the artists themselves," with "no unauthorized scraping of artists' work," and that artists get paid through revenue-sharing models. The site is built around licensed, royalty-free voices, not celebrity clones. That matters if you plan to release what you make.
Key features
AI voice changer and voice library
The voice changer is the main tool. According to the Kits help center, you upload an .mp3 or .wav, and it can isolate the vocal from a full track automatically. You can run conversions on up to five files in one project, trim the input with an audio cutter, and adjust vibrato, EQ, pitch shift, delay and more in the advanced settings. There's also a voice history, so you can compare takes.
The library spans many genres. The desktop app page lists voices such as "Gospel Female (English, Contemporary)", "Afrobeats Male (Caribbean, Rhythmic)" and a batch of voiceover voices, so it isn't only for singing.
Voice cloning: instant and professional
Paid plans let you train a clone of your own voice. Kits' research page calls Instant Voice Cloning (IVC) "the first product powered by zero-shot singing voice conversion." That means it doesn't need a long training session. Professional cloning trains on a larger dataset. The help center adds that you "must own the rights to all data used to train a custom voice." In plain English: clone yourself or someone who has given you permission, not your favourite pop star.
Voice designer, blender and generative vocals
The free plan still includes the voice designer and blender and Kits' generative vocals, according to the pricing page. The research page describes the generative model, KGV1, as producing "high quality text-to-vocals generation." The Kits blog presents it as a hook and topline idea starter for producers, not as a finished-song machine.
Vocal remover, vocal repair and AI mastering
The vocal remover splits a song into vocals, instrumental and backing vocals, with optional reverb, noise and echo removal. The AI mastering tool works from genre presets or a reference track you upload. Kits has also added a vocal repair tool for cleaning up rough recordings, which the Kits blog pitches at budget voiceover work.
AI instruments, choir tool and desktop app
Kits can also turn a sung or hummed line into an instrument, from "Vintage Tape Cello" to "8-Bit Lead", using its instrument library. Paid plans add a choir tool for stacking harmonies. The desktop app adds drag-and-drop into your DAW and a "multimodel mode" for trying several voices at once. Producers will care about that part.
Kits AI pricing and plans
Prices below come from the official Kits pricing page, monthly billing in USD, checked October 2026. Kits notes that existing subscribers may have different prices and that "Unlimited usage is subject to fair use."

What the free plan really includes
Here's the catch that annoyed me most on paper. The free plan gives you 15 conversion minutes a month, but zero download minutes. You can hear what Kits does to your voice, but you can't export the result. You also get no voice slots, so no clone of your own voice. Free works as a trial. It isn't a working plan.
Two more details are worth knowing before you subscribe. When you cancel, your custom voices aren't deleted, but they're "frozen and unavailable for use" until you pay again, per the pricing FAQ. And in a Trustpilot reply, Kits' support team explained that its cancel flow offers a one-month pause, and "a paused plan resumes automatically at the end of the pause." If you meant to cancel, make sure you actually cancelled.
Performance and independent testing
This is where opinions split hardest. Independent reviewers agree on one thing: what you put in decides what you get out. Violet Recording, which says its review is based on documented capabilities rather than its own test, puts it plainly: "Voice conversion quality is driven by input quality, and Kits AI is no exception." A clean, dry vocal converts much better than one buried in reverb or a full mix.
Tools for Humans gives Kits an editorial 2.5 out of 5 (last reviewed March 2026). It rates the stem and vocal isolation tools as the strongest part for beat makers who chop and process everything anyway. It's less kind about voiceover work. Its quick take says to skip Kits if "you need consistent, natural-sounding vocals for client-facing or podcast work."
Hands-on video reviewers fill in some gaps. Thom Shepherd compares Kits.ai and Audimee side by side in a voice cloning walkthrough with more than 17,000 views. The CREATIVES SUMAN channel ran a hands-on test asking whether Kits can "really turn anyone into a singer."
Paying users who left reviews are less forgiving. A Producer plan subscriber on Trustpilot wrote in June 2026 that cloned voices sounded "highly artificial, distorted, and metallic" and that free open-source RVC v2 did better. Another reviewer, in March 2026, said the octaves on covers came out lower than expected. On the other hand, one subscriber in August 2026 called the singing voice cloning "pretty decent", even while complaining about credits.
Putting it together: Kits looks good for demos, harmonies, idea sketches and stem work, where a slightly synthetic edge doesn't matter. It looks weaker as a replacement for a real vocalist on a final release, especially if your input recording is rough.
What reviewers and users report
Kits' Trustpilot page is hard reading. As of late October 2026 it shows a TrustScore of 1.7 from 57 reviews, with 90% one-star. Trustpilot also notes that Kits hasn't invited reviews recently, so the page is likely to attract unhappy users more than satisfied ones. Kits has replied to 65% of negative reviews.
We read about 40 reviews across the first two pages (page 2 here). Most complaints aren't about sound. They're about billing: charges after cancelling, trials that converted to paid, and trouble deleting accounts. Kits' replies point people to help.kits.ai and say refunds for recent, low-usage accounts are handled "on a case-by-case basis." There are bright spots too: an October 2026 reviewer praised the support team as "genuinely" caring. Tools for Humans also noted how little organic Reddit discussion Kits gets for a product its size.
Who Kits AI is for
- Producers and beat makers who want quick demo vocals, choir stacks, AI instruments and stem splitting in one place.
- Songwriters pitching demos who need to hear a song in a different voice type before booking a singer.
- Vocalists who want a licensed clone of their own voice, and maybe to earn from it through Kits' artist programme.
It's a weaker fit for podcasters or voiceover artists who need natural, consistent speech. A dedicated tool from our best AI voice generators roundup is a better match there. It's also not for anyone who wants a full song from a text prompt.
Kits AI alternatives worth considering
- Suno: choose it if you want complete songs, lyrics and all, from a prompt instead of converting your own vocal. Read our Suno AI review.
- Musicfy: another voice-to-voice music tool, worth comparing if Kits' pricing or output doesn't suit you. See our Musicfy AI review.
- Uberduck: an AI vocal and voice tool worth comparing if you want a different take on AI voices for music. Here's our Uberduck AI review.
Several Trustpilot reviewers also mention ACE Studio and free, self-hosted RVC models as their go-to options. RVC needs a decent GPU and some technical patience. Need a particular voice type? Verdict: who should use it and who should skip it
Kits AI has a smart product idea: licensed voices, artist revenue sharing and a toolkit built for people who actually make music. The feature list is long, and the voice changer settings, choir tool and desktop app give producers real control.
Two problems hold it back. Output quality depends heavily on your input, and some paying users call cloned voices metallic or artificial. The bigger problem is trust: a 1.7 Trustpilot score made up mostly of billing and cancellation complaints. My advice: use the free plan to audition voices, and if you pay, start with Starter for one month. Pay by a method you can manage easily, and check that your plan says cancelled, not paused. Producers making demos should give it a try. If you need polished final vocals or hate keeping an eye on subscriptions, look elsewhere.
FAQ
What is Kits AI?
Kits AI is a browser and desktop platform for AI vocal production. It converts your vocal into other licensed voices, clones your own voice, removes vocals from songs, masters tracks and turns melodies into AI instruments. It's made by Arpeggi Labs Inc.
Is Kits AI free?
There's a free plan with 15 conversion minutes a month, the voice designer and blender, and generative vocals. It includes zero download minutes and no custom voice slots, so you need a paid plan (from $10 a month) to export audio or clone your voice.
Is Kits AI safe and legit?
Kits is a real company and says its voices are licensed from the artists. Many Trustpilot reviewers report unexpected charges and cancellation trouble, though. Check your subscription status after cancelling, and contact help.kits.ai if you're billed unexpectedly.
Can you use Kits AI vocals commercially?
Kits markets its library as royalty-free voices sourced from artists. For your own clone, you must own the rights to the training audio. Always check the terms for any voice before you release a track.
Does Kits AI give refunds?
Kits' support team says on Trustpilot that it handles refunds for recent, low-usage accounts case by case, but several reviewers say they were refused. Don't count on a refund. Test on the free plan first.

What users are saying
We read about 40 Trustpilot reviews from November 2024 to October 2026, the only sizeable public source of user feedback we found; Reddit discussion of Kits AI is sparse. Most complaints concern billing, cancellation and refunds rather than sound, and because Kits does not invite reviews, this sample likely skews negative.
