AI search visibility tools for SaaS and cloud services: 7 best picks for 2026

The best AI search visibility tools for SaaS and cloud companies, compared on buyer prompts, docs and review-site citations, AI Overview tracking and price.

Collage of the official websites of Peec AI, Profound, Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit, Ahrefs Brand Radar, SE Visible and Scrunch

AI search visibility tools for SaaS and cloud services run the prompts your buyers type, such as "best CRM for a 50-person team" or "[competitor] alternatives", through ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity and others every day, then report how often your product is named, which competitors appear instead and which pages the models cite. I think Peec AI is the best all-round pick for most software companies, Profound is the enterprise choice, and AthenaHQ is the cheapest way to start, thanks to its free plan.

Software is a special case: buyers ask comparison and integration questions, and the shortlist often forms before anyone visits your site. In G2's 2026 AI Search Insight Report, 51% of B2B software buyers said they now start research in an AI chatbot more often than in Google. That's a bigger share than I'd have guessed. Prices below were checked on official pages in late October 2026.

Key takeaways

  • Track the prompts software buyers actually use. Category ("best X for Y"), alternatives and "vs" prompts, integration questions and pricing or security checks behave differently, so tag them separately.
  • Your docs and pricing pages matter more than your blog. In one vendor's citation data across about 320 SaaS brands, docs won 64% of "how do I" citations and the blog just 9%.
  • Review sites help, but less than the hype suggests. G2's own analysis found review volume explains less than 2% of the variation in AI citations.
  • Do the prompt maths. Prompts × engines × days is the number of AI answers you pay for. Two plans near $90 can differ by more than 2x.

Our ranking method

Nobody at The AI Future ran hands-on tests or took screenshots for this roundup. We compared each tool using official pricing, product and help pages, published third-party roundups, B2B citation studies and G2 ratings as reported by other reviewers, as of late October 2026. The scoring covered areas that matter to software companies:

  • Buyer-prompt coverage, meaning tagging by intent, funnel stage and branded versus unbranded.
  • URL-level citations, meaning which of your pages get cited, including docs subdomains.
  • Competitor tracking, meaning share of voice against named rivals.
  • Engine coverage on the plan you can afford, including Google AI Overviews and AI Mode.
  • Technical readiness, covering AI crawler access, bot traffic and site audits.
  • Price per AI answer, meaning what you pay per answer analysed.
  • Team fit, covering seats, API and security such as SSO and SOC 2.

The 7 best AI search visibility tools for SaaS in 2026, ranked

Peec AI – best for most SaaS marketing teams

Peec AI is a dedicated AI search analytics platform that tracks your visibility, position, sentiment and share of voice daily against unlimited competitors, with source and URL-level citation data.

Peec AI official preview image
Image: Peec AI, peec.ai (official website)

Strengths

Peec AI's pricing page lists features that map neatly onto how software is sold. Prompts can be tagged by persona, intent and branded versus non-branded. Its "Objections" view groups "Recurring arguments AI raises against your brand" and traces them to the pages behind them, which is likely where "too expensive for small teams" or "weak Salesforce integration" shows up. Fact-checks compare AI claims against facts you set.

The catch is engine choice: self-serve plans track three models, and Claude and Perplexity are Enterprise-only. Brand24 reported a 4.8/5 G2 rating from 21 reviews, noting it "shows the data but offers little guidance on what to do next" (Brand24).

Key features

  • Prompts can be tagged by intent and persona, which splits "best X for Y" prompts from branded checks.
  • Source analytics offer domain, subdomain and URL views with source classification.
  • Objections and fact-checks show what AI gets wrong or holds against you.
  • Crawl insights show which AI bots hit which pages.

Pros

  • Unlimited seats and competitors on every plan
  • 4,500 AI answers a month on the $95 plan
  • Subdomain tracking suits separate docs sites

Cons

  • Only three engines on self-serve plans
  • Claude and Perplexity require Enterprise
  • No free plan

Peec AI pricing: No free plan, then paid plans from $95/month for 50 prompts; Pro $245, Advanced $495 (checked October 2026). See pricing

Profound – best for enterprise SaaS and cloud vendors

Profound is an enterprise AI search platform that tracks how your brand and competitors appear across up to nine answer engines, paired with an "AI Marketer" agent for content and reporting work.

Profound official preview image
Image: Profound, tryprofound.com (official website)

Strengths

Profound seems to suit cloud-native companies because of its Agent Analytics. The pricing page lists connectors for AWS, Cloudflare, Fastly, Google Cloud Platform, Netlify, Vercel and others, so you see AI crawler and referral traffic from infrastructure you already run, plus SSO/SAML and SOC 2 for security reviews. G2's own AI search research uses "G2 internal data via Profound".

Access is the problem for smaller teams. According to Brand24, Profound dropped its self-serve brand plans in September 2026, so you get a free trial and then a custom quote. Brand24 reported 4.5/5 on G2 from 1,128 reviews, with price the most common complaint.

Key features

  • Enterprise covers up to 9 answer engines.
  • Agent Analytics reports AI crawler and referral traffic via CDN and cloud connectors.
  • Prompt Volumes estimates what users ask answer engines.
  • AI Marketer agents turn visibility data into briefs.

Pros

  • Connectors match a typical cloud stack
  • Strong security and compliance story
  • Free trial to see the interface

Cons

  • No published price after the trial
  • Trial is limited to 50 prompts on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews
  • More than most startups need

Profound pricing: Free 7-day trial; then Enterprise plans at custom pricing (checked October 2026). See pricing

Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit – best for SEO teams tracking AI Overviews and AI Mode

The Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit adds an AI Visibility Score, competitor research, prompt research, brand perception reports and daily prompt tracking to a Semrush account.

Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit official preview image
Image: Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit, semrush.com (official website)

Strengths

If your growth team already runs SEO in Semrush, this keeps AI data next to keyword data. The Semrush knowledge base says Prompt Tracking monitors prompts "on platforms like Google AI Mode and ChatGPT" daily, and Competitor Research shows "the prompts and topics where others are getting cited but you aren't", which is the alternatives-query problem in one report.

Limits are tight: 25 tracked prompts and one Brand Performance domain, with extra users and domains at $99 each. Brand24 listed no Claude or Copilot coverage and reported 4.4/5 on G2 from 4,034 reviews for the full suite (Brand24).

Key features

  • The AI Visibility Score benchmarks your mentions against the median of your top competitors.
  • Competitor Research lists prompts and topics where rivals are cited and you aren't.
  • Prompt Research gives topic-level volume, difficulty and intent.
  • The AI Search Site Audit flags AI crawler blockers.

Pros

  • AI data next to your SEO data
  • Covers Google AI Overviews and AI Mode
  • Semrush One bundles raise the prompt limit to 50 to 200

Cons

  • Only 25 tracked prompts at $99
  • No Claude or Copilot
  • Extra users and domains cost $99 each

Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit pricing: No free plan; then $99/month; 50 extra prompts cost $60/month (checked October 2026). See pricing

Ahrefs Brand Radar – best for benchmarking a software category on day one

Ahrefs Brand Radar measures any brand's AI visibility across a pre-collected index of more than 519 million prompts, and also tracks your own custom prompts daily, weekly or monthly.

Ahrefs Brand Radar official preview image
Image: Ahrefs Brand Radar, ahrefs.com (official website)

Strengths

Brand Radar shows who owns your software category before you write a prompt. Its product page says it generates prompts "from competitor comparisons, pricing data, and other signals Ahrefs collects". It also keeps search-query-based indexes for AI Overviews and AI Mode, tracking the keywords that trigger an AI answer and whether you appear, which makes it one of the stronger AI Overview search rank tracking tools.

Ahrefs says the index "works best for established brands or topics with meaningful search demand", so a young SaaS should lean on custom prompts; paid plans include 5 to 20 a day. Brand24 reported 4.5/5 on G2 from 714 reviews for the full suite, calling Brand Radar great for "where do we stand?" but less helpful for "what should we do next?" (Brand24).

Key features

  • The AI Visibility Index covers 519 million+ prompts with no setup.
  • The AI Overviews and AI Mode indexes list keywords that trigger AI answers in Google.
  • Estimated impressions weight visibility by search volume.

Pros

  • Instant category benchmarks
  • Prompt ideas from comparison and pricing data
  • Custom prompts included with paid Ahrefs plans

Cons

  • Thin index coverage for low-demand products
  • Descriptive more than prescriptive
  • Claude checks drain budgets fast

Ahrefs Brand Radar pricing: No free plan (a separate free checker exists); then custom prompt packages from $50/month; prompt tracking included in paid Ahrefs plans (checked October 2026). See pricing

SE Visible – best for most AI answers per dollar

SE Visible is SE Ranking's standalone AI visibility platform, with brand mentions, share of voice, average position, net sentiment and citation analytics down to the page.

SE Visible official preview image
Image: SE Visible, visible.seranking.com (official website)

Strengths

SE Visible gives you the most raw data for the money. Its pricing page lists 75 prompts, about 11,250 AI answers a month and unlimited seats on the $89 plan, with funnel-stage classification, "Your cited pages" and subdomain tracking, so you can see whether a docs subdomain pulls citations. SE Ranking's AI Overviews Tracker adds where your site ranks inside AI Overviews and which sources are cited.

The weak spots: Claude is only on the $399 Agency plan, and Brand24's verdict was "You'll see the gaps, but you won't find any recommendations." There was no G2 rating yet (Brand24).

Key features

  • Prompt management classifies by intent, funnel stage and branded status.
  • Citation analytics show cited pages, citation gaps and subdomains.
  • Basic covers five engines: ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini and Copilot.

Pros

  • About 11,250 answers a month for $89
  • Unlimited seats from the start
  • 10-day free trial

Cons

  • Claude only on the Agency plan
  • Light on recommendations
  • No independent ratings yet

SE Visible pricing: No free plan (10-day trial), then paid plans from $89/month, or $71/month billed annually (checked October 2026). See pricing

Scrunch – best for docs-heavy and developer-focused products

Scrunch monitors how AI describes your brand and checks how AI crawlers and agents read your site, with site audits, bot traffic data and an Agent Experience Platform on Enterprise.

Scrunch official preview image
Image: Scrunch, scrunch.com (official website)

Strengths

If your product lives on documentation, API references and integration pages, Scrunch looks at the problem from the site side. Its pricing page lists AI agent and bot traffic, five site audits a month and citations on the entry plan, with AXP and SSO on Enterprise. metehan.ai notes a real-time feed of GPTBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot and other crawlers hitting your pages (metehan.ai).

The entry plan covers only four LLMs. Brand24 reported 4.5/5 on G2 from 73 reviews and quoted a G2 user: "The control it gives us over how we're tracking our clients' AI visibility is second-to-none." Reviewers also mention limited exports (Brand24).

Key features

  • AI bot traffic shows which crawlers read which pages.
  • The entry plan includes 125 prompts and 5,000 responses.
  • AXP serves AI agents a version of your site, on Enterprise.

Pros

  • Strongest technical angle on this list
  • Useful for docs and developer portals
  • Generous prompt count on entry

Cons

  • Only four LLMs below Enterprise
  • No Claude or Gemini on entry
  • Limited exports, per G2 reviewers

Scrunch pricing: No free plan (7-day trial, per metehan.ai), then paid plans from $250/month billed annually, or $300 month to month according to Brand24; Enterprise is custom (checked October 2026). See pricing

AthenaHQ – best for early-stage SaaS starting free

AthenaHQ is an AI search visibility platform with prompt and response analysis, competitor insights and a content optimization agent, plus a free Essential plan.

AthenaHQ official preview image
Image: AthenaHQ, athenahq.ai (official website)

Strengths

AthenaHQ is the only pick here with an ongoing free plan. Its pricing page lists Essential as free with 300 credits (one credit equals one AI response), with sources and competitor insights. The $295 Starter plan adds 3,600 credits across 11 models, unlimited prompts and a content optimization agent. Enterprise adds claim review against your knowledge base, useful if AI repeats outdated pricing or features. I'd start with the free plan if budget's tight.

Brand24 named it best for "growth-stage SaaS teams that need solid GEO analytics without an enterprise contract" and reported 4.9/5 on G2 from 44 reviews (Brand24).

Key features

  • The free Essential plan has 300 credits and unlimited users.
  • Starter covers 11 models, including Claude.
  • Actions suggest on-page and off-page fixes, plus a content agent.

Pros

  • Real free plan for a baseline
  • Wide model coverage on Starter
  • Turns gaps into tasks

Cons

  • Big jump from free to $295
  • 300 free credits run out quickly
  • API and extra credits are paid add-ons

AthenaHQ pricing: Free, then paid plans from $295/month (checked October 2026). See pricing

Choosing the right AI search visibility tools for SaaS and cloud services

Build a prompt set that mirrors how software is bought

G2's report says 33% of buyers open with category comparison queries such as "best CRM for enterprise", and 31% start with competitor-based prompts. Your prompt set should probably reflect that. A practical split looks like this:

Prompt typeExampleWhat it measures
Category (unbranded)"Best help desk software for a 20-person support team"Whether you make the shortlist
Alternatives and "vs""[Competitor] alternatives for startups"Whether you win switchers
Integration"Does [product] integrate with Salesforce?"Whether docs and integration pages get cited
Pricing and security"Is [product] SOC 2 compliant?"Accuracy of facts AI repeats

Keep branded prompts out of your visibility score. They name you by design, so they measure accuracy, not reach. Peec AI, SE Visible and Ahrefs all let you tag prompts so the two stay separate.

Work through one example with real plan limits

Say you sell a help desk product and build 48 prompts: 16 category, 12 alternatives, 12 integration and 8 pricing or security. On three engines, tracked daily, that's 48 × 3 × 30 = 4,320 AI answers a month, which fits inside Peec AI's 4,500-answer Starter plan. Only the 28 unbranded prompts count toward visibility: 28 × 3 × 30 = 2,520 answers. If you're named in 630 of them, your visibility is 25%. Here's what the same job costs per 1,000 answers on published plans:

PlanAI answers per monthPriceCost per 1,000 answers
SE Visible BasicAbout 11,250$89About $8
Peec AI Starter4,500$95About $21
Scrunch entry plan5,000$250 (annual)About $50
AthenaHQ Starter3,600$295About $82

Volumes come from each vendor's pricing page. Some tools bundle more analysis per answer, but these plans aren't equivalent.

Track the pages AI cites: docs, pricing and integrations

For software, AI rarely cites your blog for buying questions. MaxAEO, which sells a citation tool, reported from its tracking of about 320 B2B SaaS brands that pricing pages took 61% of brand-owned citations for cost questions, docs 64% for "how do I" questions and integration pages 57% for "does it integrate with X". Pick a tool that shows cited URLs and subdomains, such as Peec AI, SE Visible or Scrunch. Our guide on how to build AI citations covers what to change once you know.

Watch review sites, but don't overrate them

G2 says it holds 22.4% influence on software-related queries, based on an analysis by Kevin Indig, a growth advisor at G2. G2's own regression is more modest: categories with 10% more reviews had about 2% more citations, and review volume explained less than 2% of the variance (G2). An independent agency study by Growfusely of 1,739 citations found G2, Capterra, Gartner and all other review sites together made up 7.3% of citations, while independent content and vendor pages made up nearly 79%. Check what your own category cites before you budget for reviews.

Check Google AI Overview tracking separately

Google's AI answers sit on a results page, so if Google is where your buyers search, look for AI Overview search rank tracking tools that tie AI answers to keywords: Ahrefs' AI Overviews and AI Mode indexes, Semrush's toolkit or SE Ranking's AI Overviews Tracker. Our Google AI Mode review explains how that surface behaves.

The limits

Most numbers in these dashboards sit on a noisy signal.

  • Answers vary run to run. In SparkToro's study, 600 volunteers ran 12 prompts through ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI a combined 2,961 times. SparkToro found less than a 1 in 100 chance that ChatGPT or Google's AI would return the same list of brands in any two of 100 responses. Trust visibility across many runs, not single positions.
  • Engines disagree. Growfusely found ChatGPT cited vendor pages twice as often as Perplexity (24% vs 12%), and Reddit appeared only in Perplexity answers (Growfusely). A win on one engine says little about another.
  • Being named wrongly is its own problem. One Reddit commenter described a prospect quoting features the product never had and wrote: "Being mentioned with wrong info is definitely worse than no mention because you spend half the sales call just correcting things instead of actually selling" (Reddit). Fact-check features in Peec AI and AthenaHQ Enterprise address this.
  • Most studies come from interested parties. G2 sells reviews, MaxAEO and Brand24 sell tools, and Growfusely sells services. Treat each as one data point.

Free vs paid: what you actually get

Free tools give you a snapshot; paid tools give you a time series.

  • AthenaHQ Essential, Profound's seven-day trial, SE Visible's 10-day trial and SE Ranking's free five-keyword AI Overviews check show real data on a small sample.
  • Entry paid plans ($50 to $100) from Ahrefs, SE Visible, Peec AI and Semrush add daily tracking, benchmarks and cited URLs.
  • At the mid-market tier ($250 to $300), Scrunch and AthenaHQ add site audits, bot traffic and action lists.
  • Enterprise (custom pricing) adds more engines, SSO, API access and support.

A sensible path: run a free check, then buy the smallest plan that covers your buyers' engines with 40 to 50 prompts across the four prompt types above. Our guide to AI services for small US B2B SaaS companies covers the wider stack.

Final verdict

I think Peec AI is the best pick for most SaaS and cloud-services companies right now: intent tagging, objection tracking, subdomain-level citations and 4,500 answers a month from $95. Its weak spot is engine choice, since Claude and Perplexity sit behind Enterprise. Enterprise vendors should shortlist Profound; otherwise I'd skip it, because a custom quote after a trial is hard to justify for a small team.

If you already pay for Semrush or Ahrefs, start with their add-ons, especially when Google AI Overviews matter most. SE Visible is the value pick at $89, Scrunch suits docs-heavy developer products, and AthenaHQ lets an early-stage team start for free (though the jump to $295 is steep). Keep your prompt set stable for a quarter. For the metrics, see our explainer on what AI visibility is.

FAQ

What is the AI visibility score?

An AI visibility score measures how often AI answers mention your brand for a set of prompts. Most tools report it as the share of answers that name you. Semrush's version compares your mentions with the median of your top competitors, so it's relative. Scores differ by vendor, so compare trends within one tool, not across tools.

Do G2 reviews affect ChatGPT recommendations?

Somewhat. G2's own analysis found categories with 10% more reviews had about 2% more AI citations, but reviews explained less than 2% of the variation. A Growfusely study found review sites made up 7.3% of citations for B2B software queries. Reviews help, but your own pages and independent coverage matter more.

What are the best AI Overview search rank tracking tools?

For Google AI Overviews and AI Mode specifically, Ahrefs Brand Radar keeps search-query-based indexes for both, the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit tracks AI Mode and AI Overviews alongside SEO data, and SE Ranking's AI Overviews Tracker shows where your site ranks inside the overview and which sources are cited.

How much do AI search visibility tools cost?

As of October 2026, AthenaHQ has a free plan, Ahrefs custom prompt packages start at $50 a month, SE Visible at $89, Peec AI at $95 and Semrush's toolkit at $99. Scrunch starts at $250 billed annually and AthenaHQ Starter at $295. Profound sells custom enterprise plans after a free trial.
