Koupon AI review 2026: is the free Amazon promo code app worth it?
Koupon AI is a free app that finds and verifies Amazon promo codes. We look at how it works, what users say and whether its deals are really cheaper.

Our verdict on Koupon AI (Koupon.ai)
Koupon AI is a useful, free way to find working Amazon promo codes and stack them with coupons, with no extension or payment access. Regular Amazon shoppers should keep it handy; skip it if you want codes applied automatically or need deep price-history analysis.
Pricing Free (web, iPhone and Android); supported by affiliate commissions and, on Android, ads
Visit Koupon AI (Koupon.ai)I gave Koupon AI one job on paper: prove it's more than another coupon site with "AI" bolted onto the domain name. The short answer is that it mostly is, I think. Koupon AI is a free deals app and website that finds Amazon promo codes and discounts, checks them with a mix of automation and human editors, and sends you to the retailer to buy. It costs nothing, it never touches your payment, and the codes seem to work for most people. The catch is that a "verified" code isn't the same as a good price.
Quick honesty note: nobody on our team ran a hands-on test of Koupon, so there are no stopwatch timings or screenshots here. This review covers Koupon as it stands in late October 2026, using its official site and app listings, an independent review by Techraisal, app-store data trackers and roughly 35 recent user reviews on the App Store, Google Play and Trustpilot. When someone else did the testing, I'll say who.

About Koupon AI
Koupon (stylised Koupon.ai, and often searched as "kupon ai") is a deal discovery service. Its homepage pitches Amazon promo codes and daily deals with trending offers "updated every 3 hours", browsable by brand, category and discount type. The App Store listing describes it as a free app that finds promo codes, discounts and price drops "across Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Best Buy, Macy's and Woot, and tests every code before you see it."
So where's the AI? Koupon's About page says it "combines intelligent automation with human editorial review" and uses "promo code detection and deal pattern analysis" that weighs product information, historical data and discount reliability. Its verification page spells out a two-layer process: algorithms and AI handle detection and code testing at scale, then editors review terms and edge cases. In Koupon's words, "A deal goes live only after it passes both automated verification and editorial review." Koupon says its systems run more than 10 million verification checks a day. We couldn't verify that number independently, and it sounds high to me for a service this size.
The company behind it is a bit layered, and probably smaller than the branding suggests. The iPhone app is sold by Student Outlets Inc with a copyright line for Koupon Inc., according to the App Store, and the Google Play listing names Student Outlets Inc in Alhambra, California, as the developer. A 2024 write-up by SentiSight says the platform launched in summer 2023, built by students from the University of Washington and the University of Southern California, and Koupon's own verification page says it has been "trusted by shoppers since 2023."
One thing worth knowing up front: Koupon isn't a browser extension that auto-applies codes at checkout. You copy a code, tap through to the retailer and paste it yourself. That's slower. It also means Koupon never reads your cart or handles your card.
Key features
Verified Amazon promo codes
This is the core of Koupon AI for Amazon. Each deal shows when it was last checked (labels like "Updated 2 hrs ago"), and Koupon says live deals are re-verified on a schedule and pulled when they fail, per its verification page. You can tap Report on a deal page to push a broken code back into the review queue. Users mostly agree the codes work, as far as I can tell. One App Store reviewer wrote that "the coupons really do work," while a Trustpilot reviewer said a Halloween costume showing a 90% promo code "did not work." Koupon's reply was that its system rechecks codes and removes expired ones.
Coupon stacking instructions
Amazon has two different discount types: clip-on coupons on the product page and promo codes you enter at checkout. Koupon's verified deals show the steps to reach the lowest price, for example clipping a coupon, stacking a code and showing the final price to aim for. In practice, this is the feature I'd use most, because figuring out stacking on your own is tedious.
Price drops, deal history and alerts
The app listing says you can sort deals by discount percentage, price drop or category, check discount history and deal quality, and set alerts for all-time lows, flash sales and trending products. Techraisal's review singles out the price-history angle as useful for spotting "artificially inflated" markdowns. Still, if price history is all you care about, a dedicated tracker like Keepa goes much deeper (more on that below).
Brands, categories and multi-store search
Koupon claims more than 3,000 brands on its App Store page and "300,000+ deals and promo codes" on its About page. The homepage covers everything from appliances to pet supplies, with brand hubs for names like Apple, Ninja, Dyson and Nike. Retailer coverage has grown beyond Amazon, though Amazon still dominates the feed.
Seasonal sale tracking
Ahead of publication, the site's deal news section was already full of early Black Friday roundups for blenders, Kindles and LEGO sets. The app says it tracks Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Prime Day live, which is when a tool like this earns its keep.
Pricing and plans
Short section: Koupon AI is free. There's no paid tier that we could find, and you don't need an account to browse the website, according to Techraisal. The table shows what "free" includes, and the paragraph after it covers how the company pays its bills.
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Website | Free | Search and browse deals and promo codes, copy codes, click through to the retailer |
| iPhone and Android apps | Free | Everything above plus deal alerts, saved deals and following brands |
Prices checked October 2026. Koupon makes money from affiliate commissions: the app listing says it "earns a commission on some purchases, which never changes the price you pay or the deals we show you." Techraisal notes that Koupon's terms say it participates in the Amazon Associates programme. The Google Play listing also flags that the Android app contains ads, and data tracker AppGoblin estimates that its revenue is entirely ad-driven on Android rather than from in-app purchases. Koupon's site also pitches "rewards & freebies" in the app, but we couldn't find a public page explaining how those work.
Privacy-wise, the App Store privacy label says contact info, search history, identifiers and usage data may be linked to you. That's lighter than an extension that watches every checkout page. Still, it isn't nothing.
Performance and independent testing
There aren't many truly independent hands-on reviews of Koupon. A lot of what ranks for "koupon ai" is thin, promotional content. The most useful independent piece we found is Techraisal's review (updated August 2026), which rated promo code accuracy 4.6 and overall value 4.6 out of 5 based on public information, app-store reviews and feature depth. Its verdict: "Koupon.ai is not a revolutionary shopping tool, but it is a consistently useful one." It also flagged that category coverage can feel thin off-season and that applying every code by hand takes more effort than extension-based rivals.
The bigger performance question isn't whether codes work. It's whether the price is actually good. Here the user reviews split. A Google Play reviewer named Amanda wrote: "I found most of the prices the same as, if not higher in a few cases, for items I'd buy." A Trustpilot reviewer went further, saying "you are not getting much of a deal if any at all on most of the items." Meanwhile, plenty of others report real savings, like one Trustpilot reviewer who said she saved $146.98 on a couple of Amazon purchases.
My read: Koupon is good at confirming that a discount exists. It's less able, honestly, to tell you whether a 60%-off listing from a little-known seller is better value than a full-price item from a brand you trust. One App Store reviewer put it plainly: "even if it says 50% off doesn't mean that other listings are at the same price point." Another warned that "a lot of items w low prices have high shipping so makes it almost a deceptive deal." Koupon replied that it had made shipping costs more transparent.
There's also some confusion about how codes get applied. A long Trustpilot review complained that after tapping through, "It DOES NOT subtract the discount." Koupon's response clarified that "the code needs to be copied and entered manually at checkout on Amazon." Worth knowing before your first order, since that one surprise seems to account for a fair share of the bad reviews.
Who it's for
- Regular Amazon shoppers who buy household goods, kitchen gear, beauty products and gadgets and are happy to spend 30 seconds checking for a code first.
- Deal hunters tired of social media code videos. One App Store reviewer said Koupon beat rewinding Facebook videos because "This app takes me right to the item."
- Privacy-conscious shoppers who don't want a browser extension reading their checkout pages.
Skip it if you want something fully automatic, if you mostly shop outside the US, or if you're looking for specific clothing sizes. Several reviewers noted there's no size or colour filter yet, and Koupon told one Trustpilot reviewer a size filter is planned.

Koupon AI alternatives worth considering
Capital One Shopping
Capital One Shopping is the pick if you want automation. It's a browser extension and app that applies coupons and compares prices, and its site says it earns commissions and "may share those commissions with you as rewards." The trade-off, as Techraisal notes, is that it needs a browser extension and an account, which some shoppers would rather avoid.
Keepa
Keepa is the better tool for price history. Its homepage promises "Price history for every product, and an alert the moment the price drops" across 11 Amazon marketplaces, free and without an account. It won't find promo codes, but pairing Keepa with Koupon is a smart way to check whether a "deal" really is one.
Slickdeals
Slickdeals is a community-driven deals site where users post and vote on offers across retailers like Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy and Home Depot. It covers far more stores than Koupon, but you'll likely do more sifting. If you like cash back too, Coupert bundles coupons, cash back and price comparison in a free extension.
Verdict: who should use it and who should skip it
Koupon AI does what it says on the tin. It finds Amazon promo codes, checks them, shows you how to stack them with clip-on coupons and gets out of the way. It's free, it never sees your payment details, and most users say the codes work. For a quick pre-purchase check on Amazon, it's a solid habit to build, and I'd happily keep it bookmarked.
Just don't let the green "verified" badge do your thinking. A working code on an inflated price is still an inflated price, so compare against other listings and the price history before you buy. If you want hands-off savings, an extension like Capital One Shopping is more convenient. If you want to know whether a price is truly low, add Keepa. FAQ
Is Koupon AI legit?
Yes, Koupon is a real, functioning deals service, not a scam. It's run by Koupon Inc and Student Outlets Inc, holds a 4.9 App Store rating from about 49,500 ratings and doesn't process payments, since you buy on the retailer's site. Some users say deal prices aren't always the lowest, so it's wise to compare before buying.
Is Koupon AI free?
Yes. The website and the iPhone and Android apps are all free, and there's no paid plan. Koupon earns affiliate commissions when you buy through its links, which it says doesn't change your price. The Android app also contains ads, according to its Google Play listing.
How does Koupon AI work with Amazon?
You search or browse Koupon for an Amazon product, check the deal and any steps such as clipping a coupon, copy the promo code and tap through to Amazon. You then enter the code manually at checkout. Koupon doesn't auto-apply codes or place orders for you.
Do Koupon AI promo codes actually work?
Mostly, based on user reviews. Koupon says each code is tested automatically, reviewed by editors and re-checked while live, with a timestamp showing the last check. Some users still report codes that fail, often due to seller, size or eligibility limits. Always confirm the final price at checkout.
What are the best alternatives to Koupon AI?
Capital One Shopping is the best option if you want codes applied automatically through a browser extension. Keepa is better for Amazon price history and price-drop alerts. Slickdeals covers more retailers through a large community of deal posters, and Coupert adds cash back to coupons and price comparison.
