Genspark AI review 2026: features, pricing, slides, pros and cons

Genspark AI turns prompts into decks, docs, sheets and research fast, but its credit system is the catch. We weigh features, pricing and user feedback as of October 2026.

Genspark AI is one of the broadest AI agents around, great for fast first drafts of decks, documents and research. Use it if you'll check the output and watch your credits; skip it if you need predictable costs or polished PowerPoint files straight away.

Pricing Free (100 credits/day, lifetime cap); Plus $24.99/mo ($19.99/mo annual); Pro $249.99/mo ($199.99/mo annual); Team about $30-35/seat/mo; Enterprise custom

Genspark AI is an all-in-one AI workspace that turns a prompt into a finished thing: a slide deck, a spreadsheet, a research page, a website or even a phone call made on your behalf. It's free to start with daily credits, Plus costs $24.99 a month, and in late October 2026 it's one of the most capable "do the whole job" agents you can buy. The catch is credits. They burn fast, they're hard to predict, and that's what most unhappy users write about.

Quick honesty note before we go any further: nobody on our team ran a hands-on test of Genspark for this review. So I'm not going to tell you how many seconds my deck took, because I didn't make one. Instead, we reviewed Genspark as it stands in late October 2026 using its own help pages, independent reviews, other people's tests, two YouTube reviews and about 40 recent user reviews. When someone else did the testing, I'll name them.

If you're here because you searched "gen spark ai" or "what is genspark ai", you're in the right place.

What is Genspark AI?

Genspark started life as an AI search engine and has turned into what it calls an AI workspace. According to Fast.io's 2026 overview, it routes your tasks across more than 70 AI models from different companies, backed by 150+ in-house tools, so you're not locked into one chatbot's strengths and weaknesses.

The company was founded in 2023 by Eric Jing, a former Baidu vice president, and Kay Zhu, and it runs through a parent company called MainFunc. Fast.io reports a $100 million Series B extension in June 2026 that valued Genspark at $2.6 billion, plus a global partnership with Microsoft in April 2026 to bring its agents into Microsoft 365.

The big recent update was Genspark 6.0, launched on July 21, 2026. Börse Express reported that it added SecondBrain (long-term memory that carries context across tasks), GenMail for handling email through agents, GenTeam for shared chats, and a hardware gadget called the SecondBrain Note. The same report says more than 7,000 business customers use the platform.

In plain terms: you describe the job, and an agent plans it, researches it, and hands you the file. That's the pitch of agentic AI in general, and Genspark is one of the more ambitious versions of it.

Key features

Here's what's in the box, and what other reviewers and users say about whether each piece actually works.

Super Agent

This is the main event. You type a request and the Super Agent breaks it into steps, picks tools and models, and works through them. The App Store listing says it answers questions, researches topics and generates images, video and audio. eesel, which sells a competing support tool, still called it one of the most impressive general agents its writer had tried this year in its July 2026 review.

Genspark also reports 87.8% on the GAIA agent benchmark, slightly ahead of Manus, but that's a self-reported number, as eesel points out.

Genspark AI Slides

Genspark AI Slides is probably the feature that brings most people in. You give it a topic or a document and it builds a deck with research and visuals baked in. Fast.io notes it includes built-in fact-checking and exports to PowerPoint or PDF.

Does it work? Mostly, with a caveat. Lots of Trustpilot reviewers praise the decks, with one writing in September that "The slides it generates are clean, polished, and professionally designed". The weak spot is export. Deckary's review (Deckary sells a rival PowerPoint add-in) says "Slides that look polished in Genspark's web interface don't always translate cleanly to PowerPoint or PDF", and Preuve AI reports that a Lindy reviewer lost formatting on two slide exports.

Cost matters here too. Preuve cites a Genspark staff test from October 2026 where a 10-slide Standard deck used 244 credits and an 8-slide Ultra deck used 766. Not a controlled test, but it gives you a feel for the numbers.

AI Sheets and AI Docs

Sheets builds spreadsheets with analysis and charts, and Docs writes documents from a prompt. Users on Trustpilot mention using them for PowerPoint and Excel-style work, statistics for a PhD and contract drafts. The warning from Preuve: Sheets formulas have referenced the wrong columns, so check every formula before you trust a total. An App Store reviewer also complained that Word and PDF exports shift spacing and margins.

Sparkpages and Deep Research

Sparkpages are Genspark's research reports: several agents look at a topic from different angles and compile one shareable page with tables, citations and a follow-up chat. Fast.io cites a Flowith test where Genspark averaged 8.3 citations per answer against 5.7 for Perplexity Pro, but its citation accuracy was 82% against Perplexity's 94%. More sources, less precision. If accuracy matters most, see our guide to AI search tools.

Call For Me

Yes, it can phone a restaurant for you using an AI voice. eesel cites independent testing by AI Tool Analysis that found an 83% success rate across 47 calls, with failures clustered around complicated phone menus. Preuve says Genspark's help page puts a call at about 500 credits, so it's not something you'll use casually on Plus.

Everything else

The app also lists AI Developer (websites, apps and games with GitHub integration), AI Meeting Notes, AI Designer, AI Pods, and access to many image and video models. Breadth is a real strength. It's also a complaint: one Trustpilot reviewer said "the sheer number of features can make it a little confusing to navigate".

Genspark AI pricing and plans

Genspark's pricing page wasn't reachable for us, so these figures come from Genspark's own credits guide and from MyClaw's October 15, 2026 pricing breakdown, cross-checked with eesel and Fast.io. Prices are in US dollars, checked October 2026.

What the free plan really includes

The free plan gives you 100 credits a day. Here's the fine print most people miss: the credits guide says the daily refill stops once you've used your lifetime allowance, after which you're spending whatever's left. Given that one Standard deck can cost a couple of hundred credits, the free tier is really a trial for slides and a small daily allowance for research and chat.

The credit rules that matter

  • No rollover. The guide says plainly: "Credits reset each billing period." Top-up credits last three months.
  • Failures cost money. Regenerations cost the same as the original, and failed agent retries still use credits. Quality disputes aren't refunded.
  • Free Quota on paid plans. Plus and Pro get a weekly allowance for Standard-mode agents (Super Agent, AI Slides, AI Sheets, AI Docs, Deep Research) that resets every seven days.
  • "Unlimited" chat changed. Core chat and image models are included up to a limit measured over a five-hour window, and buying credits doesn't lift it. People who subscribed on or before September 18, 2026 keep their older benefits until December 31, 2026, as long as they stay subscribed.
  • Video is the budget killer. Preuve cites a September user report where one 10-second video used 9,089 credits, about 91% of a Plus month.
  • Refunds are tight. Preuve reports a 72-hour window outside the EU, UK, Turkey and Korea, and quotes Genspark's rule: "We can process only one refund per customer."

Performance and independent testing

Since we didn't test it ourselves, here's what the people who did found.

Speed is the consistent win. eesel says reviewers report a polished 10-slide deck in about 60 seconds. Deckary's writer says they made 35+ decks over 45 days across tools, and their verdict on Genspark is that designs are basic next to dedicated design tools and export results are unreliable.

Accuracy is where you need to stay alert. Preuve points to a February 2026 TIMEWELL test of Deep Research in which the beta output included invented financial figures and another company's patents. That test predates the July rebuild, so things may have improved, but the lesson stands: check every number. Writing a tighter request helps too, and our guide on how to write better AI prompts applies here.

Then there's the credit meter. An App Store review titled "Money Pit" sums up the worst-case experience: "System is just designed to use up all of your credits as quickly as possible." That's one angry user, not a measurement, but versions of it show up again and again.

Verdict on performance? Fast and impressively broad. Not reliable enough to hand to a client without a proofread.

Who Genspark AI is for

  • Good fit: consultants, students, founders and marketers who need lots of first drafts (decks, reports, sheets) and are happy to polish them.
  • Good fit: people who want one subscription instead of separate tools for slides, research, images and video.
  • Poor fit: anyone on a tight, fixed budget, or anyone who wants to know exactly what a task costs before running it.
  • Poor fit: teams that need pixel-perfect PowerPoint files straight out of the box.

Genspark AI alternatives worth considering

  • Gamma: if slides are the only thing you need, a dedicated presentation tool gives you more design control and simpler pricing.
  • ChatGPT: the general-purpose option with agent features, a huge user base and predictable subscription tiers.
  • Claude: stronger for careful writing and long documents, and it can now make docs and slides too, though without Genspark's phone calls or video.

Verdict: who should use it and who should skip it

Genspark AI does more in one place than almost anything else I've read about this year. Decks, sheets, docs, research pages, websites, phone calls. For first drafts, the speed is genuinely useful, and plenty of real users love it.

But I can't score it higher than 3.5. Credits are opaque, they don't roll over, failures still cost you, the "unlimited" chat promise has been trimmed, and exports need cleanup. Use the free plan to see whether its slides and research suit your work, buy Plus monthly rather than annually at first, and stay away from video until you know what it costs you. If you hate surprise bills, skip it.

FAQ

What is Genspark AI?

Genspark AI is an AI workspace from MainFunc, founded in 2023, that uses a Super Agent and more than 70 AI models to turn prompts into slides, documents, spreadsheets, research pages, websites, images, videos and even phone calls. It has a free plan with 100 daily credits and paid plans from $24.99 a month.

Is Genspark AI free?

Yes, there's a free plan with 100 credits a day and 1 GB of storage. The daily refill stops after a lifetime allowance, per Genspark's credits guide. Since a single Standard deck can use a couple of hundred credits, the free plan works best as a trial before choosing Plus.

How much does Genspark AI cost?

As of October 2026, Plus is $24.99 a month or $19.99 a month billed annually, with 10,000 credits. Pro is $249.99 a month or $199.99 a month annually, with 125,000 credits. Team costs roughly $30 to $35 per seat, and Enterprise is custom. Higher credit tiers exist on both main plans.

Is Genspark AI Slides good?

Many users praise Genspark AI Slides for fast, polished first drafts, and reviewers report a 10-slide deck in about a minute. The common complaints are basic designs next to dedicated tools and formatting that shifts when you export to PowerPoint or PDF, so plan for some cleanup.

Is Genspark AI legit and safe to pay for?

Genspark is a real, well-funded company with a reported $2.6 billion valuation and a Microsoft partnership. Still, Trustpilot currently hides its rating over a guidelines breach and has removed fake reviews, and many users complain about credit burn and refunds. Start monthly and read the refund terms first.
